Today’s Post from Rev. Phil
Good Morning Friends;
This Tuesday morning is dawning again with frost, and the hope of bright spring sunshine to banish the cold by mid-day.
As we walk with Jesus through these days of the last week before his arrest, we remember his compassion especially for those who were marginalized by the world around them.
- Jesus took time to bless the children in a world where they were to be “seen and not heard”;
- Jesus took time to speak with, heal and welcome women into his community – with special attention to those who were wounded, exploited and abused;
- Jesus took time to address the concerns of regular folk – women and men – those who were afraid, disturbed by the evil around them;
Jesus lived a life of compassion. Jesus lived out of the abundant love of God. We are invited to follow him in the way of compassion today and every day.
Grace and peace with pastoral love and concern,
Rev. Phil
P.S. I offer to you the “Prayer for Community” from Rev. Richard Rohr’s Daily Meditation (available free from cac.org):
O Great Love, thank you for living and loving in us and through us. May all that we do flow from our deep connection with you and all beings. Help us become a community that vulnerably shares each other’s burdens and the weight of glory. Listen to our heart’s longing for the healing of our world. (Please add your own intentions). . . .
Knowing you are hearing us better than we are speaking, we offer these prayers in all the holy names of God. Amen.
