First Time Worship Visitors
The United Church of Canada has a reputation for being one of the most inclusive and progressive Christian churches in the world. We are a uniquely Canadian denomination, formed when the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalist Churches united in 1925. We were later joined by the Evangelical United Brethren Church in 1968. As a denomination, we have been on the forefront of advocating for peace and justice, and we are known for standing with the marginalized and oppressed in Canadian society. Locally, the congregation is the home of the Picton United Church Food Bank, which is one of our primary ministries with the community.
We gather as a community of faith for worship on Sunday mornings at 11am. At Picton United Church you will find worship services that celebrate a just and generous faith. Our worship expresses the belief that all people of the earth are included in the embrace of God’s love. Worship focuses on the relevance of our faith in our everyday lives.
Music for our weekly worship ranges from contemporary multi-instrument songs to traditional church hymns accompanied by our Bell grand piano or three manual Wicks pipe organ.
There is plenty of parking at Picton United Church. Enter our parking lot at the corner of Chapel and Mary Streets. You can enter the church through the north-east wooden and glass doors on Mary Street or our main doors on Chapel Street. You will be greeted by a friendly member of the congregation who will provide you with a program for the worship service.
