Opening Prayer
Lighting of the Christ Candle
One: We come to worship You, O Spirit of Light, who changes
everything.
All: We come to worship you because you illuminate the
darkness and expose what’s hidden.
One: If we follow you, we will have the Light of life, and we’ll never
walk in darkness.
All: We come to worship you because you are the Light of our
world.
One: We come to worship You, O God of Light, who guides our
steps and leads the way out of the darkness.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and
humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is
easy and my burden is light.”
We Pray Together
One: O God of Light, sometimes we find ourselves drifting in
dark waters.
All: But we know that you are near, present on this
journey.
One: We have nothing else to fear because we know that
Jesus has walked the towering waves.
All: And with one word of peace, you can put our raging
hearts at rest.
One: O Spirit of life, you are the captain of the storm, so
please guide us on this journey and see us safe to shore.
We pray these things in the name of Jesus, who taught us to
say,
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, On earth, as it is in heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our
trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass
against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from
evil:
For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory
Forever and ever. Amen.
