Dear Friends;
Greetings to you and your loved ones this lovely late winter morning. We can be grateful for the sunshine and growing daylight, especially good for us in these stressful days of isolation and uncertainty.
Although we can’t be together face to face right now – we can reach out by electronic means to care for and support one another.
During this time I will be posting – on facebook and on our Picton United Church Website (with the capable assistance of Debra Marshall & Tim McGinnis respectively) – messages of encouragement and at least one “Morning Smile” each day.
We must not forget that God is with us especially in days of difficulty. I’ll also be pointing you to resources that should help to sustain you on this journey.
Finally, as St. Paul reminds us, in his letter to the Church of Galatia: “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Love (Christ’s law)”; and in his First Letter to The Church at Corinth: “Faith, Hope, and Love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is Love.”
With pastoral love and concern,
Rev. Phil
Your Morning Smile: Some wag recently quipped: “I hope we don’t have an outbreak of gastro-intestinal virus – or people will be hoarding nasal spray!”
