Early Sunday morning the Picton United Church made the decision to suspend all P.U.C. worship services and programming until Palm Sunday in support of the nation’s attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19. Girl Guides and Weight Watchers has been cancelled until further notice. The Picton United Church will continue to monitor the situation and advise of any further changes.

The Picton United Church Food Bank will continue to remain open as an essential service in our community but has made changes to its operational procedures for the protection of volunteers and clients due to the current COVID 19 pandemic.

Effective Friday March 20, 2020 clients will be provided with pre-selected packages of supplies at the door and entry into the food bank will be restricted to new registrants. The Food Bank has already instituted changes regarding precautionary hygiene requirements. Those registered clients who fall within the identified category of most vulnerable to COVID 19 or have concerns may contact the PUC Food Bank at 613-476-8516. Your call will be returned.

The Picton United Church asks organizations and people wishing to deliver food items to the food bank to call ahead to arrange for receipt of items. Please disinfect packages with a wipe prior to drop off as a precaution.

The safest manner of contributing would be for financial donations to the Picton United Church Food Bank so that we can purchase directly from the supplier.

During this COVID 19 pandemic it is anticipated that there will be a higher demand for food supplies. Your support and caring for our community members is greatly appreciated.
