Sunday October 4 2020 Rev. Phil Hobbs dedicated the new stairs at the front entrance of the Sanctuary. The stairs were designed based on pictures of the original stairs of the church. We are very thankful for all those within the church and community who have supported the restoration projects at Picton United Church. As part of the broader community’s cultural heritage, the caring for this historically significant building is a responsibility we take very seriously and with love.
The dream team….thanks to Peter Yee who donated his time as engineer on the stair project, Don Hadley of the PUC Property and Finance Committee and the driving force on the reconstruction project and Patrick Cavanaugh of Carraig Inc. Patrick’s expertise as a stone mason brought these stairs back to life, respecting the history of the building. And at the top of the stairs…..Rev. Phil who keeps us inspired.
